SafirLab Program for Entrepreneurship in Paris 2018

SafirLab announces the opening of its program for the year 2018, an incubation program that allows pilot and cooperative projects to change their size through the following:

[1] A skills building session in Paris in the fall that includes workshops, personalized diagnosis and professional meetings.

[2] Eight months of local support by the consortium partners.

[3] One final follow-up session in one of the member countries of the program.

Applicants must be:

[1] 20-30 years old

[2] Residents of one of the countries that are members of the program (Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Algeria, and Tunisia)

[3] The initiators of an innovative social project

As part of the SafirLab program, a young civil society activist is rewarded for his commitment to the program. The grant, known as the "Dennis Pietton Grant", is worth €10,000 and is intended to support ambitious and committed projects. It also provides the winner with the means to pursue his/her professional project and ensure the necessary media coverage for the project.

Note: The applicant is not required to master a specific language, either fluent in Arabic, English or French.

SafirLab is the laboratory of change of the French Institute and  CFI. Since 2012, SafirLab has been supporting young actors to change their companies in nine countries in the Arab world.  With this program you can benefit from the expertise of eminent civil society actors in France, share your experiences and get inspired for new phases to your entrepreneurial or associative projects.

CFI which is a subsidiary of France Médias Monde, promotes media development in Africa, the Arab world and Southeast Asia. The French cooperation agency identifies and analyzes the needs, then invests alongside the media, the professionals and the civil society actors who are committed to establish pluralistic and democratic media in their country. CFI's teams work on about thirty projects in four major programs:

[1] Media and pluralism

[2] Media and development

[3] Media and business

[4] Media and human resources

The French Institute is the public institution in charge of the foreign cultural action of France. Its mission is to promote artists, ideas and works, the French language and cultural and creative industries, while promoting artistic exchanges and meetings between professionals. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, the French Institute actively contributes to the diplomacy of influence of France. Its projects and programs are based on a unique ability to deploy through the vast network of cultural services of the French Embassies, the French Institutes and the French Alliances located throughout the five continents.
