Job title Psychosocial Counsellor
Place of performance Gatrun, Libya
Duration up to 3 months (@30days/month)
Qualification Bachelor's degree in clinical Psychology.
Sector experience Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable relevant Community Stabilisation experience and/or minimum of 4 years of demonstrable relevant Community Development experience.
Geographical experience Minimum of 4 years of experience in Africa with local experience in Gatrun is an advantage.
Language Fluency in Arabic and English are essential.

 

Job description:

 

Overview of CTG Global CTG support and manage humanitarian projects in fragile and conflict-affected countries around the world. With past performance in 15 countries – from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and Central and South America – we offer a holistic fabric of project management, implementation and support. Skilled in emergency response to crises such as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, we have the ability to act quickly (crisis response teams can be on the ground in 24 hours) and to establish structured operations in high-risk environments. CTG recruit and manage qualified, skilled teams with extensive experience operating in challenging conditions.
Overview of position Under the direct supervision of the program manager and close coordination with the psychosocial team the “Together We Rebuild” project is a recreational centre program aiming to provide social activities that promote wellbeing to migrants IDPs and host communities. The aim is to foster coping mechanisms and strengthen community livelihood through a variety of social activities and to provide psychosocial support to all that need it.
Role objectives - Screening and assessment of the psychological wellbeing of beneficiaries
- One on one as well as group counseling with identified beneficiaries
- Group Psychosocial activities with children and adults
- Monitoring and recording of general mental health needs
- Supporting other staff on ways to deal with the mental health issues of the beneficiaries
- Provide clinical interviews, diagnosis, reports and recommendations
- Help emotionally and mentally disturbed individuals cope with and function in life
- Provide direct psychosocial support and refer internally and externally as needed, respecting confidentiality and the right of the beneficiary
- Conducting home visits when necessary
Expected output - Report to the program manager and undergo trainings recommended

Team management

Further information
  • Preferable MA or BA in clinical psychology licensed by an accredited institution
  • 4 years of experience with migrants, IDPs, and host communities
  • Experience with SGBV cases and working with the most common symptoms found in children implementing an evidence based approach
  • Experience with group therapy and women empowerment
  • Experience with art and play therapy
