Production Technology Advisor

DEPARTMENT: Production Technology Department

LOCATION: Tripoli

OBJECTIVES OF JOB

The Snr. Production Advisor follows up on all production relevant data on a daily basis. He carries out all relevant activities to optimize the daily production as well as the initiation of projects to increase the production through implementation of existing/new technologies. He is involved in the root cause analysis of deviations from actual to planned production. He supports the Production Technology Manager on a daily basis.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HSE Records

Ensure that all activities are executed safely and responsibly according to good oilfield practices, company polices and procedures, and local legislation, without any personal injuries or threats to the health of individuals and without jeopardizing the environment;

Design all jobs with a focus on HSE

Ensure that all HSE procedures are followed, updated and improved where necessary;

Contribute to a planned approach towards reduction of emissions, effluents and discharges that have a negative effect on the environment;

Maintain and sustain the integrity of all operating wells;

Staff Performance

Mentor the junior production technology/wellservices engineer in Tripoli office.

Ensure that Nation Staff grows into leading roles and takes over responsibilities.

Utilize the LID and SPEAD program for the systematic training of National staff and ensure that the training is focused on the clear needs defined in the development path.

Business Integrity

Liaise with the relevant departments and gather the information to assess the quality of the daily production data.

Verify quality of data and follow up on deviations.

Use the KPIs from the business plan to identify deviations in production and the root cause.

Optimize the daily production by adjusting the production parameters within the given ranges.

Initiate production optimization projects which include gaslift/ESPs/Fracking/Water Injection/backpressure reduction.

Identify training requirements of National staff.

Assist the PT Manager and Wellservices Team leader in all aspects of planning and reporting the department's activities.

Profitability

Strive to continuously reduce and optimize costs where possible in a safe and responsible manner;

Ensure that all contracts are managed and controlled.

Carries out special projects as assigned, this may include recommendations for standardisation of equipment and artificial lift systems.

Responsible for the identification and application of relevant existing and new technologies, promote an "improvement culture" amongst all staff.

Investment Projects

Contribute towards preparation of investment proposals and Field Development Plans

Provide assistance to project teams with accurate cost and time estimates.

External Relationships

Ensure that good communication is maintained within the organisation for the best interests of Wintershall - Libya operations.

Liaise effectively with all third parties, local authorities and other WILI departments

Ensure that correct procedures are maintained for the area of responsibility.

Qualification:

Engineering Degree in Petroleum Engineering and/or relevant working history of 15 years.

Experience in Production Optimization Projects, e.g. gaslift, ESPs, Fracking.

Good computer skills and knowledge of relevant software tools for reservoir and process simulation, eg. ECLIPSE, PROSPER, GAP, OLGA, MS Office package.

Strong production technology skills incl. onsite operational experience.

Strong teamplayer with ability to connect different departments and people from various cultural backgrounds.

Able to work self motivated in an organized fashion.

Capability to motivate a team of young engineers, evaluate the workload and set priorities.

Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
